a start

Last night my mate and I went to a debut concert of Laurel Mountain Ensemble, 14 women singers, Celtic harp, piano & keyboard, violin, and flute, performing Madrigal style Christmas music for 90 minutes — with harmony tight like Seals & Croft or Simon & Garfunkle.  Beautiful.  We sat next to the mother of one of the singers, listened to her coughing … bad cough … don’t know about her cancer … but enjoyed enjoying her daughter with her, and appreciating how special each Christmas is … enjoying it like it could be the last, as it could be for any of us.  And I said, “A good start, indeed.”
